I went to D.C. and I marched. Now that I’m back in Portland, I’ve pledged to stay active in the fight for social and racial equity. As a graphic designer, an Asian American and a daughter of an immigrant, I asked myself “what more can I do to contribute to this historical movement?” Inspired by the call to action from Women’s March speakers, I created ReSISTA Kats to pay tribute to the loud and proud women who showed up in D.C. and around the world — and to serve as a reminder that there is much more work to be done. I hope this motivates you to stay united, get involved and to find your inner activist.
A portion of the profits from the sale of ReSISTA Kat products will be donated
to organizations committed to racial and social equity. Our most recent fundraising campaign will benefit The Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) in Portland, Oregon. This non-profit group is dedicated to assisting immigrants build new lives and become self-sufficient by providing more than
150 culturally and linguistically specific social services.
What's at stake? Immigration, health care, climate change, reproductive rights, education, civil rights, gun control, the economy and so much more.
Contact a local organization and volunteer. Roll up those sleeves and put your strengths to work today. The time is MEOW!
